Installation¶
Basic Installation¶
This installs the core library with OpenTelemetry SDK and basic instrumentation support.
Multimodal extras (v1.0.0)¶

Strands Harness is opt-in. Enable it explicitly with
enabled_instrumentors=["strands"]; the base package does not import Strands
unless this integration is enabled.
OpenInference (Python 3.10+)¶
Includes LiteLLM, Smolagents, and MCP instrumentation via OpenInference. The Claude Agent SDK and Agno extras install their corresponding OpenInference integrations, which currently target Python 3.10–3.14. Strands Agents uses the framework's native GenAI spans.
TypeSafe AI / Jev (Python 3.10+)¶
This installs the official typesafe-sdk; TraceVerde provides the native
instrumentation in this package.
